The chiefs and elders of the Domase area today sacrificed a sheep and schnapps to the gods in the open to officially signify the enforcement of the ban on the all sakawa boys from entering their communities in Domase of Sunyani West municipality in the Bono Region.
According to the “Nsumankwaa hene” of Domase Traditional Council, Nana Yaw Nketia, who performed the sacrifice to pacify or purify the gods of Domase, when Traditional council of Domase attention was drawn to the unacceptable behaviour and misfortunes of the Domase stool lands due to increasing fraudulent activities in the area, he said
“The sacrificing of the sheep today is to purify our stools and the gods of the land and also to curse and drive suspected sakawa youth from their land for rampant digging of graves in their community” he noted.
The Nsumankwaa hene of Domase,Nana Yaw Nketia further explained that after the purification that, people within the community are not supposed to allow any suspicious ”sakawa boy” to live in any house at Domase traditional area.
According to Kyeame Kwasi Nimo, all the sub-chiefs in the area have also been directed not to entertain any suspecious sakawa youth in their locality.
However, he stated emphatically that they (chiefs and elders) were not against the youth but rather have a problem with only sakawa Youths.
