Asthma is a respiratory condition marked by spasms in the bronchi of the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing. It usually results from an allergic reaction or other forms of hypersensitivity or a common lung disorder in which inflammation causes the bronchi to swell and narrow the airways, creating breathing difficulties that may range from mild to life -threatening.
Some causes of this respiratory problem are Shortness of breath, Chest tightness or pain, wheezing when exhaling, which is a common sign of asthma in children, coughing and wheezing attacks that are worsened by respiratory virus, such as cold or fluid
Some risk factors of asthma are, smoking, Pollen, Cold air, Viral infection, Chemical fumes, Pollution, Exercise, Pets and Dust.
Foods like, White bread, Cookies, Cereals, Pizza, Spicy foods, Milk, Hamburger, Chips, Steak, Onion rings, Pea nuts, Tree nuts, Shell fish, Fish, Egg, Wheat, soy are also unhealthy for asthmatic patients and could pose threat to their lives hence the need to reduce the intake of these foods as well as regularly going for medical checkups and not practicing other unhealthy lifestyle in order to reduce the side effects of this health problem on affected patients.
